Working To Empower The Latinx Community!

The goals and objectives of the San Francisco Latinx Democratic Club are to promote and encourage Latinx candidates to empower the Latinx community in areas of Immigration and Social Justice Issues such as Economic Development for Latino Jobs and Businesses, for Quality of Life Issues relative to violence prevention, youth and education. In addition, support other candidates that will advocate and promote issues and legislation that further the Latino Agenda. To actively motivate Latinos to understand the issues, vote, and get involved through advocacy.

CALL TO ACTION: Mission Moratorium Gathering TODAY at NOON

Supervisor David Campos is expected to introduce a proposal that would temporarily halt development of market-rate housing in the Mission to address The City’s ongoing housing crisis TODAY at the Board of Supervisors. It’s one of the most aggressive efforts to date to stop displacement of lower-income residents in one of the country’s hottest real estate markets.

CALL TO ACTION: Airbnb Legislation, April 23

Currently there are over 2500 listing on Airbnb in San Francisco with just under 500 of those in the Mission. The Mission has become a destination for tourist attracted to the weather, popular restaurants and its proximity to so many City destinations. This has given insensitive for landlords to withhold their property from the rental market in order to make up to three times the current monthly average rent which is already highest in the country.
