The Youth of Mission Playground were interviewed last night by PBS/NPR
for a national broadcast as one of the Greatest Latino Efforts of 2014.
So far they achieved:
- Extended Lighted Fields
- Free Play at Night
- Bilingual Signage (in red)
But they are not done.
They still
- Want a Process to ensure this does not happen again at Mission Playground
- Want their safety concerns met
- Want to extend their efforts to other playgrounds
- Want their issues to be heard on the Parks and Recreation Commission Agenda
- Want a follow-up meeting with Park and Recreation Management where there are more youth than Park staff.
They will be engaging leaders and will be heard at the Youth Commission.
