Trump's Escalating Crisis - from Operation Epstein Fury.

The San Francisco Latino Democratic Club (SFLDC) strongly condemns President Donald Trump’s continued disregard for the safety, dignity, and well-being of the American people and the global community, specifically regarding his pursuit of an illegal war driven by the interests of the Israeli government. The situation has reached a terrifying flashpoint: within minutes of a ceasefire agreement, Israel violated the terms by bombing Lebanon, with video evidence confirming the strikes, while Iran has just responded by closing the Strait of Hormuz. These catastrophic developments, fueled by Trump’s volatile online attacks and abuse of presidential power, have moved beyond alarming rhetoric into a direct assault on the Iranian people that threatens to harm innocent lives in the U.S. and around the world on an unprecedented level.

Since the start of this illegal war, Trump has continued to act unilaterally, bypassing Congress and breaking the law by ignoring the constitutional processes designed to prevent such reckless military escalation. Despite being made aware of the closure of the Strait, the administration's casual expectation that it be reopened "immediately" ignores the reality of the fire they have helped ignite.  His rhetoric has become increasingly dangerous, underscored by his chilling social media statement that “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” Words of this magnitude carry devastating consequences, further deepening the fractures between the United States and the international community while emboldening the ongoing violations of international law.

This conduct and the language used to justify it place our nation and the entire world at risk of a catastrophic, broader conflict. We must unequivocally condemn these threats against civilians and innocent populations. What the President is orchestrating—driven by his alignment with Israel’s military aggression—is nothing short of ethnic cleansing. The SFLDC demands an immediate end to this lawless use of power before the destruction of these communities becomes permanent.

The Constitution is clear: when a president is unable to responsibly discharge the powers and duties of the office—as seen through the pursuit of an illegal war and the reckless abandonment of diplomatic norms—the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet have both the legal authority and the moral obligation to act.  If the Cabinet refuses to act, then Congress must move to impeach and remove him.

Our democracy, our collective safety, and our standing in the world are at stake. We cannot afford to wait for a total collapse of international order or the closing of vital global corridors like the Strait of Hormuz to become a permanent reality. The SFLDC calls for the immediate removal of Donald Trump to ensure that the machinery of our government is never again used to facilitate ethnic cleansing or the destruction of civilizations for personal and political gain.
