San Francisco Latinx Democratic Club Condemns Federal Immigration Raids in the Bay Area

The San Francisco Latinx Democratic Club unequivocally condemns all federal immigration enforcement designed to terrorize Latino and immigrant communities - our neighbors, our familia, our friends. It goes without saying Trump and his fascist regime are not welcome, nor needed, in San Francisco. 

As multiple media outlets have reported earlier today, the fascist federal administration has sent over 100 agents to Coast Guard Island in Alameda to prepare for mass enforcement actions as early as tomorrow. This follows encouragement by local billionaires like Marc Benioff to send federal enforcement to our City, to further profits for corporations with contracts with active federal immigration agencies.

These immigration actions, in nature, are designed to terrorize and create the conditions for anxiety and violence in our communities. They are also a distraction, designed to deflect from the fascist regime’s deeply unpopular policies of shutting down our government, taking health care away from working people, and an attempt to steal elections to prevent Republicans from losing control. Our local leaders must step up to use all tools available to fight this authoritarianism locally, as this administration continues to operate outside of the law.

We, as a community, must not take the bait for distractions but must continue to create as much public pressure as possible to keep our communities safe. While this is a deeply fearful time for Latinos, those of us with the privilege of citizenship must respond with courage, conviction, and poise - not react to the chaos and violence they are attempting to create with this induced terror. We empower our community when we share knowledge and resources about our rights. Stay sharp, share the resources below, and stay safe if you are protesting.

El Club Demócrata Latinx de San Francisco condena las redadas federales de inmigración en el Área de la Bahía

El Club Demócrata Latinx de San Francisco condena inequívocamente todas las medidas federales de aplicación de la ley migratoria diseñadas para aterrorizar a las comunidades latinas e inmigrantes: nuestros vecinos, nuestra familia, nuestros amigos. No hace falta decir que Trump y su régimen fascista no son bienvenidos ni necesarios en San Francisco.

Como informaron varios medios de comunicación hoy temprano administración federal fascista ha enviado a más de 100 agentes a la Isla de la Guardia Costera en Alameda para preparar acciones policiales masivas mañana mismo. Esto se produce tras el estímulo de multimillonarios locales como Marc Benioff para enviar agentes federales a nuestra ciudad, con el fin de aumentar las ganancias de las corporaciones con contratos con agencias federales de inmigración activas.

Estas acciones migratorias, por naturaleza, están diseñadas para aterrorizar y crear las condiciones de ansiedad y de violencia en nuestras comunidades. También son una distracción, diseñada para desviar la atención de las políticas profundamente impopulares del régimen fascista: cerrar el gobierno, privar de atención médica a la clase trabajadora y un intento de fraude electoral para evitar que los republicanos pierdan el control. Nuestros líderes locales deben intensificar sus esfuerzos y utilizar todas las herramientas disponibles para combatir este autoritarismo a nivel local, mientras esta administración continúa operando al margen de la ley.

Como comunidad, no debemos caer en la trampa de las distracciones, sino que debemos seguir generando la mayor presión pública posible para mantener la seguridad de nuestras comunidades. Si bien este es un momento de profundo temor para todos los latinos, quienes tenemos el privilegio de la ciudadanía debemos responder con valentía, convicción y aplomo, no reaccionar ante el caos y la violencia que intentan crear con este terror inducido. Fortalecemos a nuestra comunidad al compartir conocimiento y recursos sobre nuestros derechos. Manténgase alerta, comparta los recursos a continuación y manténgase a salvo si es que asiste a la protesta.

SFLDC Statement on Supervisor Dorsey’s effort to pause the City’s Equal Benefits Ordinance.

Domestic partnerships under the City’s Equal Benefits Ordinance is a civil rights issue and Supervisor Dorsey’s proposal to end it is an affront to previous efforts to fight for and win rights at home that are under now attack nationally.  This isn’t just about Marriage Equality which we support, but the erosion of one of the stepping stones to achieve it and those who benefit from domestic partnerships.  Since enactment of the Equal Benefits Ordinance, numerous couples now have protections under a domestic partnership, particularly for older and disabled people who may not opt to marry for a host of good reasons.  

Additionally, Supervisor Dorsey’s public statements about this proposal are baffling.  Rights are won to remedy unjust disparities and the ongoing costs from those disparities. Yet, the supervisor is focused on cost analyses to look at any financial impact on the City without demonstrating an understanding of the value of the rights he seeks to pause.  

Public officials are elected in good faith to safeguard our protections, and to erode any protections as they are being challenged in the federal court system sends a chilling message that demonstrates exceptionally poor judgement and timing.  We strongly urge Supervisor Dorsey to reconsider his proposal to pause the Equal Benefits Ordinance and renew his commitment to safeguarding the foundation he stands on.

San Francisco Latinx Democrats call for Trevor Chandler’s Resignation as a SF Democrat
Chandler holds executive leadership with AI Surveillance company Flock Safety, which has shared data with ICE and federal agencies illegally

San Francisco, CA - The San Francisco Latinx Democratic Club vehemently condemns Trevor Chandler’s active leadership and employment with Flock Safety, which has been reported by municipalities and publications nationwide for illegally sharing data, including license plate information of drivers with federal agencies, including ICE. As Public  Affairs Director at Flock Safety, he is directly in concert with the Trump administration’s efforts to target our community. Chandler must immediately resign as an elected member of the SF Democratic Party, as he is complicit in the very targeting Democrats claim to resist. His continued leadership roles signal that the current San Francisco Democratic Party does not care about immigrants, as long as corporations continue to profit while they illegally leak surveilled data to federal agencies.

Immigrants, residents, and our neighbors are living in a time of massive fear amid the unconstitutional detainments and disappearances of everyday working people. Yet Chandler is pushing technology that is endangering immigrants, despite the company knowingly being exposed for weeks for unlawfully funneling data to federal agencies. Chandler cannot claim to care for Latinos and immigrants yet be ok with his company violating privacy protections of immigrants in direct violation of local and state law. This is a rare intersection of injustice - concerning immigrant, legal, and privacy advocates alike. No different than Republicans holding stock in ICE detention centers, this is an intentional employment decision by Chandler, and calls for immediate accountability that must include his resignations.

The SF Corporate Democratic Party must also answer for Chandler’s role in this. SFDCCC members tout themselves as part of the “resistance” to the MAGA federal administration, yet that defiance turns to silence when the self‑proclaimed resisters are the very ones profiting from targeting our communities. SFDCCC members cannot claim that they prioritize immigrants, yet host a member who is executive leadership at a corporation that has jeopardized the safety of countless immigrants systematically nationwide. The San Francisco Democrats who stay silent on Chandler’s employment with Flock are complicit and condone it, and do not care about immigrants.

Throughout history, there are long instances of corporations and companies directly profiting off domestic and international crimes through the sales of technologies, aiding human rights violations for corporate greed. In 1939 World War II, IBM directly sold and trained Nazi personnel with IBM punch card technology to help categorize and classify information on millions of Jewish people. In 2018, Salesforce boasted a $40M government contract with Customs and Border Patrol during the first Trump administration. In 2025, Trevor Chandler is leading Flock Safety to give ICE the data they need to deport and disappear immigrants.
