DCCC Resolution Calling for an Independent Audit of the 2017 California State Democratic Party Officer Election

The San Francisco Latino Democratic Club (SFLDC) fully supports the Resolution Calling for an Independent Audit of the 2017 California State Democratic Party Officer Election put forth by Members Petra Dejesus and Peter Gallotta and urges members of the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee vote in favor of said resolution.

SFLDC exists to educate and empower the Latino community on issues of social justice and quality of life, especially those which disproportionately affect our community. As a club who itself has felt disenfranchised by the party in the past, we understand the current pronounced divide between “insiders” and “the grassroots.” We also feel any dissension or distrust within our ranks should not be unfairly dismissed as distractions in an age of Trump. It must be addressed head-on and resolved with fair, open and actual democratic processes to create unity and allow us to move forward collectively. Failure to do so will only foster bitterness and distrust.

On June 21, 2017, the SFLDC General Body Membership voted unanimously to support Member Dejesus and Gallotta’s Resolution. We strongly believe that a transparent independent forensic audit is the best solution to resolve any questions or doubts around the CDP party officer elections. We also request all DCCC Members show their support in moving the party forward by voting in favor of this resolution.
